Ness Energy to Begin Work On The Gurim #4 Well in Israel

WILLOW PARK, TEXAS, U.S.A./NETANYA, ISRAEL, April 28, 2006/PRNewswire-FirstCall/  -- Ness Energy International announced today that it will begin workover operations on the Gurim #4 well near the city of Arad which is located approximately 4 km. west of the southwest end of the Dead Sea. Ness Energy’s President and C.E.O. Sha Stephens departed on Tuesday the 25th of April to be there to oversee the work to be performed.

“We are very pleased to be in the position to begin work on the Gurim #4 well in just a matter of days. Final touches are being performed on our workover rig to bring it back into proper working condition. After replacing a circulating pump and various other components, the rig is now in its best operating condition and should move onto location the first week of May. We feel very confident of success with the planned rework of this well. In the early 1980’s this well was making 100 barrels of oil and 100 barrels of water a day, which at the time, with falling oil prices, was not economical to produce, subsequently the well was shut in and has not produced since. A little over a year ago, we conducted some tests on this well and from those conclusions we feel this work is in order. Our plan is to attempt to squeeze off, by cementing, the part of the zone that produces water and to be able to produce the oil relatively water free. Given the economical climate today and the price of oil, the impact that a producer in Israel would have would not only be realized in dollars and cents, but would also impact our company by increasing shareholder value not to mention bringing us one step closer to seeing ‘The Vision’, that we believe God gave to my father Hayseed Stephens, come to pass.”

The Gurim Structure, in Israel, just south of the prolific Zohar Field, has been engineered and is estimated to hold over 4 million barrels of heavy oil. Should the rework of this wellbore be deemed successful, then the scope of the work will enlarge to the reworking of 2 more existing wells and the possible drilling of new wells in the area, the time table of this work is dependent upon the Company’s ability to secure resources necessary to do the work.
